Why is the price of the bracelet like it is?

With a purchase of a Treecelet you don’t only buy a trendy bracelet, but you also make it possible to spread our message and to make this project possible organisational-wise.

Expenses included in the price of the bracelet:
– tax
– donation for planting trees
– financing awareness and educational videos on social media
– shipping (we cover more than a half of the shipping cost)
– administration costs and costs of work (managing our websites, packing, stock management, social media content creation, …)
– costs of marketing that people can even hear us
– minimal profit for further development of the project

Nonetheless, everyone has a chance to plant 1 tree for free with subscribing to our newsletter.

What material are the bracelets made out of?

The Original Treecet bracelets are made of Zamak pendant and rope.

The base of the other models is semi-precious gemstonesThose stones are connected with a rope, which is mainly made of cotton. The logo pendant is made of stainless steel.

What is the size of the bracelet?

There is only one size. The Treecelet bracelet is 100% adjustable, so it can fit as tight or as loose as you would like! It is made to fit as many wrists as possible.

The smallest circumference of  the bracelet is 12 cm, which is the smallest woman wrist we could find. Don’t worry, the bracelet can be as big as you wish, so it will fit to the strongest man as well.

Where are the bracelets made?

As you could learn in the “About us” section, we are a CO2 neutral carpenters with more than 50 years of experience. We don’t have neither materials nor knowledge to produce bracelets. That is why we searched for people that know how to make them.

We couldn’t find any suitable producer in Europe that could make the bracelets with our designs and in such quantities. We have to know that this is a global project and the demand for bracelets will rise highly. That is why we had to find our partner in China. But that doesn’t mean we were looking for the cheapest one! As a socially and environmentally responsible company we had two requests:

1)  the producer had to ensure us that the workers have good working conditions and are paid fairly.

2) the materials for the bracelets are obtained in an environmentally neutral way

That is why our bracelets cost 200% more than usually, because we want to have the biggest social and environmental impact possible.

Because we buy high quantities of bracelets, we can get better prices, which means that there is more resources left for what we want to do – plant trees.

If you know any local producer that could deliver us bigger quantites of bracelets, please let us now (info@treecelet.com).

Can I wear the bracelet in water?

The stones are, of course, resistant to water, but we still don’t recommend wearing the bracelet in the water. We want that the stones look amazing for as long as possible.

It is very easy to take off the bracelet, so there is no problem to remove it before taking a shower.

If you wear the bracelet in the water regularly, the rope might break faster. The rope also gets loose a little bit during the time, if it is in constant contact with water.

What do I do if my bracelet broke?

If your bracelet broke for any reason, please contact us through our contact submission form here. Please be prepared to send us your first and last name, shipping address, order number, and a picture of your damaged bracelet.

Where are the trees planted?

We plant trees, where they need them the most. We don’t just plant trees, we try to give the locals a source of income. One of the main causes of deforestation is poverty, because the locals burn down forests to produce coffee and palm oil. Therefore, we help to reduce the cause (poverty) and reducing the consequences by planting trees. For those reasons, we plant trees in Madagascar and Indonesia at the moment.

– coastal and central part around the city Mahajanga
– preserving and reforesting the national park Ankarafantsika

– the island Biak

Who plants trees?

We have a partnership with an organisation called Eden Reforestation Projects, whom we trust unconditionally. From every Treecelet sold, we donate money to that organisation. Then they arrange a team of local people to plant trees. This way, we give them a source of income and better living conditions. We also prevent people from planting “profitable” species, like palm oil, food for livestock, coffee, … That is how we also solve the source of deforestation in the ares that we plant.

One Treecelet funds enough money to plant and take care of up to 10 trees.

Which trees do you plant?

We plant only trees that are native to the environment of Indonesia and Madagascar. This is the only way to ensure the best conditions for growth and restoration of destroyed habitats. Mostly, we plant mangroves in both cases.

Avicinia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Ceriops tagal, Bruguiera gymnoohiza, Theobroma cacao, Apodytes dimidiate, Allamanda, Khaya, Cedrelopsis

Rhizopora, Soneratia alba, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Avicennia marina, Nypa fruticans, Xylocarpus granatum

How can I be 100% sure that money goes for planting trees?

We have a signed contract with Eden Reforestation Projects, which is 100% obligatory. For each bracelet sold we must donate for 3-5 trees, depending on the model. The process of donating is fully automated and there is no way that the donation wouldn’t be made. We also have a certificate for donating to the organisation.

We donate at the end of each week. You can monitor our progress on our website or on our Facebook and Instagram profile.

Why don't you plant in Europe?

Europe is a continent that isn’t endangered by the deforestation as much as some of the poorest regions in the Earth are. We think globally and we understand that the situation on the other side of the planet has a direct impact on our climate and our forests.

That is why we decided to help the forest that need help immediately. At the moment, we plant trees in Indonesia and on Madagascar, but we won’t stop here. A lot of countries have HUGE problems with deforestation: Brasil, Peru, Nepal, Haiti, …

Why aren't you a charity?

We thought for a long time about our direction and we came to a conclusion that working as a charity would slow us down dramatically. We want to get to our first goal of planting 1 million trees as soon as possible.

The problem of working as a non-profitable organisation is that we would have no money to advertise our project, which is crucial to spread our message. We can have a good idea, but this idea is worthless if no one knows about it.

We have calculated that it would last 10 years to reach our goal (1 million trees) working as a charity organisation. As a profitable business, we can reach the same goal in just 3 years.

Nonetheless, everyone has an option to plant 1 tree for free just by subscribing to our newsletter.
